Forrest Yoga Burntisland | Terça, 04. Agosto 2020

I am absolutely delighted to be sharing Forrest Yoga at The Space Upstairs here in Burntisland!

When: Tuesdays 6 - 7 pm beginning 18 Feb

Everyone is welcome. No previous yoga-gymnastics or lycra necessary (although anything and everything is welcome and celebrated). Classes are suitable and delicious for pre and post natal people and folks with injuries.

A bit about Forrest Yoga and what to expect...

Forrest Yoga was created by Ana Forrest 30 years ago with the intention of healing body and mind through self awareness and connection to body, mind and emotions.

The practice combines traditional yoga poses and pranayama (breathing techniques) with up-to-date anatomy and physiology research in response to current day challenges like stress and trauma.

The tools shared in these classes can support the development of mindfulness (the balance of awareness and attention on sensations of breath, body and environment), emotional awareness and strength and flexibility of body and mind.

In terms of feeling or style...I'd say I have a bit balance between playfulness and deeply appreciating the potential for healing that these practices have to offer - but come feel for yourself!

A bit about me:

I have been living in Edinburgh for the last 14 years and recently moved to Burntisland to be closer to nature and friends (I am loving it so far!).

My background is in Occupational Therapy and I worked in ***** and children physical and mental health services before jumping ship into the yoga world. I’ve always loved yoga and was lucky to be taken to my first class when I was 13. Since then yoga has been my go-to support for feeling well in my body and my mind.

I'm really into understanding and working with trauma, both in my own body and with others through yoga, bodywork and coaching.

I currently teach one-to-one and group Forrest Yoga and Poppy Perinatal Yoga, yoga-bodywork (massage, myofascial release, energy & breath work for injuries, stress, trauma), coaching, and holding workshops and retreats drawing together all of these things.

Meditation practice, studies and community has been a big part of my life for the last 6 years. I also really love being in nature, dancing, singing and going on adventures.
