Study day: Introduction to PPI (public and patient involvement) for researchers | Lecture Room 3 (Room 227 - First Floor) | Quinta, 12. Dezembro 2019

PPI Ignite @ NUI Galway is organising a PPI study day that aims to introduce Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) in research and to develop basic PPI knowledge and skills among attendees.
Audience: This course is for  researchers, academic staff and PhD students from any institution who have limited or no prior knowledge or experience of PPI. 24 places are available. 
Format: There will be three workshops (participants must attend all three workshops, as each workshop builds on the content of the previous workshop):

Workshop 1:PPI in research- what and why?
Workshop 2: PPI approaches across the research cycle
Workshop 3: Initiating, building and sustaining relationships with PPI partners in research

Objectives: By the end of the day, participants will:

Understand what PPI in research is
Be able to differentiate these from other research activities that are not PPI
Understand different PPI approaches and be able to identify some potential PPI activities in their own research area
Have developed skills to help identify, build and maintain relationships with PPI partners

The workshops will involve a mixture of theoretical background, interactive presentations and active individual and group work.
Coffee and lunch will be provided.
